Sandwe Gma-Kafue Region, Bangweulu Swamps-Kafue Flats Gma

The Luangwa River is the lifeline of this extraordinary wilderness,an unspoiled paradise teeming with iconic African wildlife. Here, guests encounter thriving populations of Elephant, Lion, Leopard, and Buffalo, along with Crocodile, Hippo, and a remarkable variety of plains game, including the indigenous Puku.

Stretching far beyond, the Bangweulu and Kafue Flats form vast swampy ecosystems covering thousands of hectares of lush grasslands. These breathtaking landscapes are home to unique species such as the Kafue Lechwe, Black Lechwe, Oribi, Tsessebe, and the elusive Sitatunga, making them some of the most biologically rich regions in the country.

The Kafue Region hunting grounds lie along the western boundary of Kafue National Park, where the terrain transitions into sweeping Miombo forests and expansive dambos. This area supports an exceptional range of wildlife. Prime species include Lion, Leopard, Roan, Defassa Waterbuck, and Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest. The region is also renowned for producing one of Africa’s largest Sable trophies,a testament to its healthy ecosystem.

Sandwe Game Management Area, located on the eastern side of the country near Petauke town, is a three-hour drive from camp and is widely regarded as the finest hunting ground in the Valley today. Rich biodiversity, thriving game populations, and untouched natural beauty make it an exceptional destination for the discerning hunter.
